We're not always buying, but we do occasionally look new inventory.  Do you have old stuff you think we might be interested in? We tend to buy things from the 1970's or earlier.  Check out our buy list below and give us a shout!

hERE IS SOME OF THE STUFF WE LOOK FOR:

  • Cameras and film equipment pre-1970
  • Oddities, medical diagrams, stuff from hospitals and medical offices
  • Things with lots of drawers or compartments (Library card files! Flat files! Old tool organizers!)
  • Typewriters pre-1980's (but the older the better!), adding machines, and other such office machinery
  • Brass stuff!
  • Clocks pre-1970
  • Original art
  • Musical instruments
  • Wooden boxes​
  • Letters (scrabble tiles, letter dice, metal stencils, sign letters, etc.)
  • Old signs
  • Maps and globes
  • Old photographs or postcards, ephemera, old paper
  • Bar accessories and glassware
  • Telephones! Phone booths, if you have one
  • ​Fiberglass shell chairs
  • Antique trunks
  • Industrial furniture and things from factories
  • Old books! Pre-1970 preferred
  • Antique sports equipment
  • Keys and locks
  • Office supplies like staplers, pens, scissors, etc.
  • Clothing 1970's or older, including:
    • Military jackets
    • Denim jackets, esp. Levi's
    • Leather jackets for men or women
    • Pendleton stuff
    • 50’s and 60's dresses, especially floral!
    • Varsity jackets and sweaters
    • Any clothing 1940's and older

unfortunately, we don't usually buy the following items:

  • ​Sewing machines (except ones with cast iron bases)
  • ​Console television sets (unless it's a cool-looking floor model)
  • Most things post-1970 (but if you see it in our shop, it's a fair bet we'll buy the same thing from you)
  • Records (unless you've got great ones)
  • ​Anything in need of extensive repair
  • Furniture from 1980's or newer

    before you schlep it into our shop,
    tell us what you got!

important note for haggling:

As you may already know, we do have to buy to sell. What it sells for on eBay is what you could make if you sold it on eBay, but isn't what we'll be able to pay you, unfortunately. We have to consider how much it will cost to clean, repair if needed, photograph, plus our overhead for our shop. If you just need an opinion or advice about where or how to sell it, that's fine too! We can help!

General note on pricing: If an item has been sold on eBay for around $20-$30 many times, but one sold for $100 one time, it doesn't mean that they're all worth $100. Much of an item's worth is based on condition, rarity, and demand. Some things are worth nothing, some things are worth a lot.
